A Dinosaur’s Diary – The Last Days
(Published by Animals.com.tr)
I am Thalmos, one of the last giants that still roam these warm lands. The ground shakes beneath my feet as usual, yet something in the air feels different these days. The forests are quieter. Even the sky looks heavier.
Our feeding grounds are shrinking. Trees are turning pale and brittle. The younger ones complain that the warmth is becoming unbearable. I do not remember the world ever being this hot. Even the rivers where we once cooled our skin now run shallow.
Today, the sky lit up with a strange fire. A burning trail cut across the clouds. We watched in silence. Some said it was a message from the heavens. Others feared it was a sign of doom. I did not know what to believe.
Dust clouds blot out the sun. The world has turned dim. Our food is disappearing faster than ever. The plants cannot grow without sunlight. Herbivores weaken. Carnivores grow desperate. Even the strongest among us struggle to find enough strength to move.
I feel the ground trembling again, but this time it is not my steps. The earth rumbles day and night. The air smells of ash. We hear distant explosions, louder than storms. The world seems… sick.
Many of us are gone. The sky refuses to clear. The cold arrived too fast, like someone blew out the candle of life. I do not know how much longer I can endure this emptiness.
Final
If anyone ever finds these words, know this:
We were strong, but the world was stronger. A great fire from the sky changed everything. Darkness covered the land. Plants died. The cold crept over our backs until even the toughest hearts slowed.
This is not a story of weakness.
It is the story of a world that changed faster than we could.
“So why did our species go extinct?” — Thalmos the Dinosaur Answers
Our end came from a chain of events started by a massive asteroid impact.
The sky burned. The sunlight faded.
The climate changed in ways our bodies could not handle.
We were creatures of warmth and abundance.
When the world fell into darkness and cold, our time simply ran out.
We did not vanish in a single day.
We faded with the light.
I'm also waiting for my own end.

About Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs lived during the Mesozoic Era which was divided into the Triassic Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
They ruled the land for more than 160 million years and adapted to many different environments.
Some were small and fast while others were enormous plant eaters or powerful hunters.
Their world was warm and filled with lush forests active volcanoes and shallow seas.
Life during this time was rich and diverse and dinosaurs were the dominant animals on the planet.
Many species thrived and evolved as the continents slowly shifted and climates changed.
Their story ended about 66 million years ago when a massive asteroid struck Earth.
The impact caused fires darkness and a sudden drop in temperature. Plants died and food chains collapsed.
Dinosaurs could not survive the extreme changes and their long reign came to an end.
Their disappearance opened the way for new species to rise including the early ancestors of modern mammals.
